Well after sitting on the damn topic for nearly a year… I went ahead and got it done. Yep i am now spectacles free and loving every minute of it. The operation was quite painless… the only downside is the recovery time, which can take up to 6 weeks for full eyesight return including distance vision. 

In what should have been probably my happiest birthday to date, has just turned into an unmitigated disaster. I have steadily eroded any friendship base I had over the years and having not had a lady in my life for ages now, have steadily become a recluse.

Today was no better. I came into work happily, hoping to catch a few colleagues and take them out for lunch/dinner. .. Except no one had turned up for work. So all I can do is sit here, mourn about my luck and hope that the day improves. So far it’s been acutely depressing with the lack of company I now acutely face every day

It has been nearly 3 months or more i guess since my last post. I have just been so busy with life and other stuff to really think of posting out here. No one is really around to read this. I think i should post more often… and make time for becoming a regular blogger.

I finally met a girl who appreciates me for what i am.. its going good. I am planning a wedding here… Let’s see where life takes us

One of the biggest discussions going on in the blogsphere in the last couple of weeks has been Rang De Basanti being chosen to represent India at the Oscar’s. A lot of people have reached various conclusions about why this movie was chosen over far more worthy movies like Omkara  or the excellent Munnabhai.  While a few people have applauded the choice i personally think Omkara was far more deserving.

While i guess i could continue on this topic ad Nauseam it would be an utter waste of time. In such cases its better to just form your own opinion and well not enforce it on anybody. The Indian Film Industry has a long way to go before we win an Oscar.

One of the smartest things i have ever done was to finally consolidate all my email id’s under one roof. I have collected a rather huge no of email id’s over the years out some out of sheer boredom, others out of wanting to try that great new host.

Result.. massive confusion for all my friends and colleagues as to which is my current email id! Difficult for me to remember which email id i gave to my insurance chap…. and so on and so forth. That was till i remembered i had nearly 5 gb of webhosting space of which i was using 1 percent for the time being.. Brainwave… i forward all my existing id’s to
my domain id. As a result all my mail comes into one place and is instantly accessible everywhere. I can sort out all my mail into folders server side . Another good point.. i can bounce some of my older accounts to gmail which rebounces the mail to my domain. A lot of my older ids were getting solid spam. Now by bouncing them through gmail the spam gets cut short and only legitmiate mail gets through. Plus i get a second backup since gmail archives one copy of the email.

It also gives me the side benefit of push email on my phone for free and as fast as blackberry. Plus since imap stores the mail server side i dont worry about my machine crashing and of loosing my mail. Any os any email client… my mail is accessible and available.

I probably sound like a hypocrite but WTH i just had to post this. I love women, i adore them in all their complexities and their nuances. I may lust after them like any normal male but that is a biological thing.Mentally ..i respect their peerless intelligence, their complex emotions and their drive.

Hence whenever i read of a crime committed it on a woman it sickens me. I am one of those who would rather go taken on a mob for a woman who is in the right…  Yea right. All the idealistic bluster aside a friend very caustically pointed out that the last few post’s on this blog were well treating women like sex objects and no better. He pointed out ‘Where is your sense of right and wrong now?!?’

I must say he did have a point. In my … stupid musings i have become no better than the man who exposes himself in public to get a rise out of women. This is something i realize i have to correct for my own self esteem which is rather low since the last few weeks has just taken a further beating one i could have avoided.

Women are complex and passionate creatures who deserve as much respect faith and understanding that you would give another guy.

Its funny how small the world is. I was just thinking to myself the other day how carefree and nice it would to be live on an island away from the drag and bustle of mumbai and then i chanced upon this blog over at livejournal. The author is a lady who is admittedly your stereotype of the big busty blonde with a curvy body. However thats where the comparision ends.. Her post’s show an intelligence and a strong will with a great writing style as she goes about fighting a different kind of racism in her own unique style.
